Strathoy-Caradoc police are investigating the cause of a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old male.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on  Sunday, emergency crews were called to Adelaide Road at Scotchmere Drive, near Strathroy.

A vehicle travelling southbound on Adelaide Road left the road and struck a tree.

Police found the deceased driver, Riley O'Brien of Mt. Brydges, inside the vehicle. Police say O'Brien had just graduated from a Strathroy high school.

A post mortem was scheduled to be conducted at University Hospital Monday.

Police are asking anyone who may have been travelling along Adelaide Road between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday to contact them.
