Police have identifed body found in Thames River
An investigation is underway after London police pulled the body of a male from the Thames River on Friday morning.
London police say they responded to an ambulance call in the Richmond Street and Grey Street area around 10 a.m. for a reports a body had been seen in the river.
Upon arrival, officers immediately entered the water to rescue the male. However, after pulling him from the water it was determined that he was deceased and no resuscitation attempts could be made.
Members of the London Police Service Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections were on scene, along with the Coroner, for much of the day.
There is no word yet on the circumstances of the incident.
Through members of the public, the man's identity has been discovered, but police aren't releasing the name yet.
Next of kin are being notified but the investigation continues.
