A 17-year-old is facing charges after a Petrolia woman out for a bicycle ride with her three children was confronted.

Lambton County OPP say the 37-year-old woman and her three chidlren were riding along Eureka Street around 10 p.m. last Thursday when the incident occured.

Investigators say a young male allegedly started yelling and swearing at the family and then confronted the woman's 15-year-old son.

The teen was then reportedly punched in the face and the mother pushed by the 17-year-old male. The two other children were not struck.

Lambton OPP responded to the scene and arrested and charged the 17-year-old with two counts of assault.

He is set to appear in a Sarnia court on January 27th.
