Police say a 41-year-old London man has died from his injuries after getting pinned under a pole in a crash at Adelaide Street North and Oxford Street East.

The incident happened on Friday at 7:10 a.m.

Police say the man was crossing the street when a vehicle lost control and hit a light standard. Two sport utility vehicles were involved in the collision. The pedestrian was freed by emergency crews and rushed to hospital.

The pedestrian, 41-year-old Santino Ayom, died in hospital early Monday morning.

One other pedestrian, also an adult male, and the female driver of one of the involved vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The adult male driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Police say the details surrounding the cause of the collision are still under investigation.
