The park where human remains were found in St. Thomas has re-opened and a post mortem examination has been scheduled.

St. Thomas police say an investigation into the body found continues with the help of a forensic anthropologist and the Coroner's Office as well as the Criminal Investigations Unit.

The remains have been removed from Athletic Park and transported to University Hospital in London where a post mortem is expected to be done Wednesday.

Investigators hope the post mortem will assist in determining the identity of the person, time of death and cause of death.

Police are thanking the public for staying clear of the park as the investigation was conducted on Monday.
