A Durham man has been charged with assault following an incident at the Listowel Memorial Arena.

On Sunday evening during a Bantam Rep minor hockey game between Listowel and West Grey, one of the West Grey parents became upset about something that happened on the ice.

After the game, the irate parent kicked one of the hallway doors, causing it to swing open and strike a coach.

The force knocked the person to the ground.

The coach sustained injuries and was treated at in hospital.

A 46-year-old Durham resident was charged with assault and will appear in a Listowel court April 27.
