Grey County OPP are looking for the rightful owner of a "significant" amount of cash found strewn about Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Owen Sound.

Police say a resident went to the cemetery on Grey Rd. 17A in the Township of Georgian Bluffs on Christmas Day and found a significant amount of money strewn about the cemetery.

The resident gathered the cash and turned it over to police.

The owner of the money can claim it at the Chatsworth OPP detachment, but will require proof of ownership, including specific details, to have the cash released.

The detachment is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. but is closed on New Year's Day.

Anyone with information which may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
