Owen Sound police are investigating a series of mischief cases early Monday morning.

In the first incident an officer on foot patrol discovered graffiti on three separate buildings in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue East at 1:30 a.m. Police say paint was intentionally sprayed across the front windows of the three businesses.

Another graffiti incident was reported around 3 a.m.in the 400 block 15th St E. The fresh graffiti had been scrawled on a billboard along the south side of the roadway.

Officers say the paint appears similar to the paint used in the previous mischief call discovered on 3rd Avenue East.

Police are also investigating after a large blue box recycling bin was intentionally set on fire at the rear of a business in the 100 block 9th Street East.

The fire was put out immediately, but the entire plastic container was melted. There was no other apparent damage to the building in nearest proximity to the fire.
