A 35-year-old man from Owen Sound is facing several charges after police say a puppy was seriously injured Monday evening.
According to police the suspect attended a friend’s residence with the 10 week old puppy.
Police say the man allegedly ingested cannabis and opiates.
When the puppy soiled the apartment floor the man allegedly beat the dog. As a result the puppy sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they were contacted by the friend who was upset by the incident.
The suspect was located and arrested. He is facing one charge of animal cruelty and two charges of drug possession.
