A 26 year old Owen Sound man is in custody following a bizarre incident Friday afternoon.
Around 1:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a man threatening and swinging a hatchet.
The suspect left the scene in a car.
An officer stopped the vehicle downtown and the suspect fled.
He then proceeded to climb the rooftops of several downtown businesses in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East.
After several hours of negotiation, the man was eventually talked down off the rooftop.
He was taken to Grey-Bruce Health Services by ambulance with what appeared to be minor injuries to his feet from running and jumping from the rooftops.
The investigation is continuing.
