One man has been arrested and police say they are searching for a second suspect in connection with the theft of $20,000 in gas over the last few months.

Woodstock police were called to Armtec Ltd. at 1100 Dundas Street for a theft in progress around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Witnesses told police they saw a black Dodge pickup leave the lot with large barrels filled with stolen gas.

The pickup headed to the north end of the city while driving on a flat tire, running a red light and losing one of the barrels of gasoline.

Police eventually arrested and charged Jeffery Jones, 37, of Woodstock with theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.

He is scheduled to appear in court on November 19th.

Police say an investigation revealed more than $20,000 in gas has been stolen over the past few months and they are searching for a second suspect.
