Provincial police are warning about a telephone "phishing" scam where callers claim to represent the province's Municipal Property Assessment Corporation -- or MPAC.
Police say they've had reports of people phoning property owners, claiming to represent MPAC and asking for personal information.
MPAC does not make calls to collect personal information and police say anyone who gets such a call should not answer any questions.
Anyone who's been affected by the scam is urged to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.
