Perth County OPP are warning residents after a teenaged girl was offered a ride to school by a stranger.

The incident took place on Friday, April 6 around 8:20 a.m in Mitchell.

The girl's parents called police after the unknown man approached their daughter on Victoria Street.

The man asked the girl if she wanted a ride because she was going to be late for school and that he had just spoken to her father on the phone.

She refused to get in the car and he drove away going northbound on Nelson Street and turned east on Ontario Road.

The suspect is described as a white man, between the ages of 30 and 40, wearing a light shirt, black curly, puffy hair and wrap around sunglasses.

The man had no accent.

He was driving a clean black older model four door car with a silver strip near the doors.

The suspect was alone in the car at the time.
