Lambton County OPP are searching for a suspect after a robbery was reported at the CIBC branch on Petrolia Line Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene just before 2:30 p.m. for reports of an armed robbery at the bank.

Investigators say a male entered the building and produced what looked like a handgun, he then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

It's unclear if a vehicle was waiting for the male.

The suspect is described as a white man in his thirties, about 6' tall and was wearing a grey hoodie with a logo on the front, a white shirt, sunglasses and gloves.

No one was injured in the incident.

A number of additional OPP units have been called in to assist with the investigation, including the OPP West Region Canine Unit.

Police are asking anyone who encounters someone matching the suspect description to use caution and call 911.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
