Robert Lawrence Hampson, 49, of Meaford, has been identified as the deceased in an investigation that led to a second degree murder charge.
Meanwhile Grey County OPP say the investigation continues at a home on Grey Road 18, south of Highway 26 in Meaford.
On Thursday, 43-year-old Myles Brinton, of no fixed address, was charged with second degree murder and appeared in an Owen Sound court.
No cause of death has been released and there is a publication ban in place regarding the case.
Police say Hampson was killed Wednesday, but Briton’s lawyer is calling it a case of self defence.
Brinton was remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for January 25th.
