Two men are in custody following a high-speed chase near Tillsonburg involving a pickup truck that was towing a trailer.

Oxford OPP say it started about 1 a.m. on Thursday on Ostrander Road, west of Zenda Line, where police were using radar.

When police tried to stop the driver, he accelerated and continued into Norwich Township and then Brant County.

OPP from three jurisdictions and Six Nations police were involved. The truck was stopped after police used a spike belt. Two men then fled on foot.

The canine unit assisted and both suspects were arrested.

Police say the pickup truck was stolen from Elmira and the trailer, which had a motorcycle on board, was stolen from St. Thomas.

Charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, under, $5,000, theft over $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000 are Jeffrey Martin, 34, of Oshweken and Charles Laforme, 27 of Grand River First Nations.
