One person was taken to hospital after a violent robbery at a home in southeast London Wednesday morning.

London police Const. Ken Steeves says the victim had serious, but non-life threatening injuries following the incident on Crimson Crescent.

According to investigators, around 5 a.m. two men forced their way into a house and beat a man with what some describe as a crowbar.

"There was a weapon used, it's an injury to the head, but it's unknown at this time what the weapon was," Steeves says.

Officers arrested one suspect nearby and are still looking for second suspect.

Hamilton Road has been reopened after being closed between Gore Road and Crimson Crescent in both directions.
