One person was airlifted to hospital following a serious crash south of Stratford.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to Perth Line 26 at Road 111 around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Perth County OPP say a Kenworth tractor trailer was westbound on Perth Line 26 when a sedan that was southbound on Road 111 crossed in front of the truck.

The crash sent the Pontiac sedan into the north ditch while the transport was left partially on the roadway and partially in the south ditch.

The driver of the Pontiac, 18-year-old Kourtney Davis of Zorra Township sustained major injuries and was transported to hospital via air ambulance.

The 61-year-old truck driver was not injured.

Perth Line 26 was closed between Road 111 and Road 112 for much of the day but re-opened shortly before 5 p.m.

An investigation into the crash continues. Northbound and southbound traffic on Road 111 is controlled by a stop sign at that intersection.
