London police have charged a 28-year-old man with second-degree murder after a stabbing that left one person dead.

Police responded to a duplex on Notre Dame Drive just before 7 p.m. Sunday following a 911 call reporting a stabbing.

Once on scene an injured man was located and taken to hospital by emergency services where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the victim has been identified as Nicholas Anthony Baltzis, 25, of London, known as Nico to friends.

A former girlfriend tells CTV News he was helping his mother prepare the duplex for sale, and when a friend of his mother arrived to check on the home, Baltzis was found in distress and the suspect was walking out the door.

He was reportedly located and held by police at a nearby bus stop.

London police Const. Sandasha Bough says, "He was arrested approcimately 20 to 25 minutes after the incident. And he remains in custody at this time."

Following their investigation, Karl Hallman, 28, of London was charged with second degree murder. No other suspects are being sought.

Hallman was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
