Police in West Nipissing are asking for the public’s help to find a man who used stolen identity documents to take a truck for a test drive and then failed to return.
The incident occurred Monday at a car dealership in the community, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday.
“An individual attended a local dealership by foot and provided stolen documents as to their identity before taking a vehicle for a test drive,” police said.
“The individual did not return to the dealership with the vehicle … a white 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali crew cab pickup truck with a black cover on the grill.”
The suspect is described as around six feet tall, weighing 250-280 pounds, wearing a dark sweater and toque, with an orange construction coat and dark construction pants and boots.
“Officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual and anyone else involved in the theft or possession of this item,” police said.
