A North Perth school bus driver has been charged after a collision with another vehicle in Newry, Ont.

Perth County OPP officers were called to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 23 and Perth Line 72 at 9:10 a.m. Friday.

Police say a school bus full of children travelling southbound on Highway 23 turned east onto Perth Line 72. While making its turn, the bus struck an SUV which was stopped at the stop sign in the westbound lane of Perth Line 72.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision, according to police.

Thirty-four students from Elma Township Public School were picked up by another bus and dropped off at school.

The 48-year-old woman bus driver was charged with “turn not in safety”.
