North Middlesex century home destroyed by fire

Fire destroyed a century farm home near Parkhill Tuesday.

Firefighters from five departments worked to douse the flames at the house on Cedar Swamp Road and prevent the fire from spreading on the property.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. and the house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

A neighbour told CTV News that Shirley Scott is the longtime owner of the home and is away at this time.

Scott’s dog and cat have not been accounted for.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
