Two people have been charged with assaulting a police officer, following a noise complaint in London.

According to police, officers were called to Cheapside Street shortly after midnight on Thursday after receiving a noise complaint.

While on scene, officers charged a male resident under the city noise by-law and arrested a second man for public intoxication.

However, police say during the arrest, the male resisted and assaulted an officer. A female also allegedly assaulted an officer.

Dakoda Pope-White, 18, is charged with two counts of assault police, one count of resist arrest, one count of causing a disturbance and one count of being intoxicated in a public place.

Samantha Shearing, 20, is charged with two counts of assault police, one count of resist arrest, one count of causing a disturbance and one count of obstruct police.

Minor injuries were reported.
