Lambton OPP officers are warning drivers to slow down after winter-like driving conditions hit the 402 Highway and much of the county causing numerous crashes.

Police responded to multiple collisions in conditions that included blowing snow, near zero visibility and roads with some snow accumulation.

Middlesex OPP say Highway 402's eastbound lanes were closed between Kerwood and Centre Roads for several hours after a loaded transport truck rolled over.

Investigators say a westbound van attempted to pass the transport - which was fully loaded with soybeans - when it struck the truck and both crashed into the grassy median.

Police say there were no injuries, but the clean-up took some time. The driver of the van, a 50-year-old London woman has been charged with careless driving.

Also Friday morning, OPP, firefighters and Lambton EMS were called to a single motor vehicle collision with injuries on Nauvoo Road between Egremont Road and Brick Yard Line.

That crash is still under investigation.
