A male motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision with another vehicle in London.

It happened at 8:15 a.m. Monday on Colonel Talbot Road at Glanworth Drive near Highway 401.

A red-coloured Pontiac Wave was travelling westbound on Glanworth Drive when it collided with a motorcycle that was travelling northbound on Colonel Talbot Road, according to London police. The collision occurred within the intersection. 

London police say the female occupant of the Pontiac was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. There were no passengers either inside the car, or on the back of the motorcycle at the time of the crash. 

Middlesex County OPP had closed all ramps from the 401 to northbound Colonel Talbot Monday morning while London police investigate.

The roadways were reopened shortly after 1 p.m.
