A 29-year-old Aylmer man has died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Elgin County on Monday night.

Around 8 p.m., Elgin County OPP, firefighters, EMS went to the crash at the intersection of Quaker Rd and Talbot Line in Central Elgin.

OPP say at the time of the collision, a 2006 Dodge pickup truck was turning westbound onto Talbot line from Quaker Rd. 

A Ford Expedition was traveling east bound on Talbot line turning southbound in the turning lane towards Quaker Rd. 

A 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle was also traveling eastbound on Talbot line in the driving lane.  A collision occurred between the Dodge pickup truck and the Kawasaki motorcycle.

St. Thomas Elgin Paramedics transported the rider of the motorcycle, 29-year-old David Berg of Aylmer, to hospital with life threatening injuries.  He was pronounced dead at hospital. 

No other injuries were reported.

OPP collision investigators were on scene to collect information into the cause of this motor vehicle fatality. 

The roadway has since been reopened.

Police say at the time of the collision it was dark out, but clear. Charges are pending as the investigation starts to unfold. 

A post mortem is scheduled for Tuesday for the deceased.
