Mother Nature isn’t finished with London yet.

A day after Wednesday’s winter storm, city is expected to get another five centimetres of snow, according to Environment Canada.

The forecaster predicts a few flurries and local blowing snow for Thursday, with a high of -12 C or -26 with the wind chill.

It could be a day or so before roads get back to normal. Middlesex OPP are urging motorists to continue to drive with caution as they deal with the aftermath of the storm.

The wintry blast created whiteout conditions and shut down highways, cancelled school buses, and closed some schools. The London Knights game against Kitchener was also postponed.

Police are reminding drivers that although visibility has improved and much of the snow is now off the roads, there are many sections along area roadways that are snow covered and icy.

Drivers need to continue to keep lots of space ahead of them, slow down through the area and expect the unexpected.

Most roads in Grey and Bruce County have finally re-opened, but visibility remain a problem. Up-to-date information on closures can be found on the Grey County and Bruce County websites.

Meanwhile a cold weather alert issued by the Middlesex-London Health Unit and Elgin St. Thomas Public Health have both been extended until Sunday.
