A theft of copper grounding material from a Hydro One distribution centre caused about 1,800 customers in the Forest area to lose power Friday.
Utility spokesperson Tiziana Baccega Rosa says Hydro One will be replacing the copper with a composite product that is less valuable to thieves.
She says it's extremely dangerous to be around the equipment where the theft occurred
Both police and Hydro One are investigating.
