A head-on crash on Bluewater Highway north of Goderich on Sunday sent three people to hospital, one with serious injuries.

Huron County OPP were called to the scene on the Bluewater Highway between Blyth Road and Airport Road around 5:20 p.m.

Investigators say a southbound Dodge Caliber crossed the centre line and struck a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. Both vehicles had extensive damage.

The three people in the Caliber, two males 18 and 19 years old both from Essex, and a 17-year-old female from Lakeshore were taken to Goderich Hospital.

The female was later airlifted to London’s Victoria Hospital with serious injuries.

The 23-year-old male driver of the pickup, from Sarnia, was assessed by EMS at the scene.

Police say it was sunny and road conditions were ideal at the time of the crash.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact 1-888-310-1122.
