Police have charged a 50-year-old Owen Sound man after an alleged assault on Sunday evening.
Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of 7th Avenue East around 6:30 p.m. Sunday for reports a man had assaulted his parents.
According to police, the man was on a probation order that required him not to drink alcohol and his parents went to check on him because they believed he had been drinking.
Investigators say the elderly couple found the man drunk and asleep and woke him to discuss his drinking, and that's when he became angry and pushed his parents into walls and closed doors. The parents were not injured.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and two counts of breach of probation.
He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
