Provincial police are advising drivers of potential traffic disruptions on Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Highway 402.

An anti-wind turbine demonstration has been planned that will travel along Highway 402 between Forest Road and Centre Road in Strathroy beginning around 10 a.m.

Police say they may need to close Highway 402 during the demonstration in the interest of public safety and are recommending that motorists who plan to be in the area to plan an alternate route.

Officials add that they do not condone the illegal activity and members of the Provincial Liaison Team are continuing to talk with organizers about finding "a legal, safer and less disruptive route of travel."

They are reminding anyone organizing or participating in illegal activity that they may be subject to charge by police.
