New details emerging after two London teens stabbed

More details are emerged after police say two teens were found stabbed in the 1100 block of Wellington Road on Tuesday.

A reliable source told CTV News the stabbings were connected to an unsanctioned basketball game that was allegedly organized by popular YouTuber "K Showtime" — a 20-year-old from Toronto who shares video content on social media while organizing basketball games in various communities.

The chain of events on Tuesday began with a planned basketball game on an outdoor court at White Oaks Public School.

According to a statement provided to CTV News London on Thursday from “K Showtime’s” spokesperson, it is confirmed that the YouTuber held an event in London on Tuesday.

A statement from K Showtime:

"Out of the hundreds of fans that came to my event in London, a small group of people came with the intent to cause harm and disrupt the event for the rest of the people. I have done many park takeovers where I create a great atmosphere and place where my fans can engage with me directly and watch fun and exciting basketball. I would ask those small group of people who are not there to support and only to disrupt, to not show up as it ruins the event and potentially puts others at risk.

I've learned that two teens were attacked at a nearby mall later that evening near my event. To my knowledge, this it is unconnected with my takeover and I want to give my support and wish a speedy recovery to all involved. I in no way condone violence of that kind wherever and whenever it occurs. I want to thank all my fans that came out to support me and continue to help me and build a great community.”

When first responders arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m., the found two teenaged boys with apparent stab wounds. Both of them were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a press release from London police on Thursday, one of the teenaged victims currently remains in serious, but non-life threatening condition, while the second individual has been released from hospital.

A description of a suspect was given to police and another teenaged boy was arrested nearby. A second suspect was also identified and located.

Two knives were also found and seized by police who say they don’t believe this was a random incident.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact police at [phone] or through Crime Stoppers. Police are specifically looking for information or video footage of any altercations that took place at the basketball game, or the parking lot associated to the incident, between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
