London police have identified the man killed in a fire on Monday as 39-year-old Christopher Joseph Manuel.
Emergency crews responded to a two-storey apartment building at 140 Langarth St. W. around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a fire.
One resident was alerted by the smoke alarm in his unit and activated the fire alarm after seeing fire on the exterior of the building.
Other occupants fled to safety, but the man in the unit where the fire is believed to have originated was pronounced dead in hospital.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and the West Region Coroner, along with London police continue to investigate.
However, police say the incident is not considered to be criminally suspicious.
