Middlesex County OPP say they have charged a 19-year-old London man who was captured on police radar travelling 150 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

An officer on patrol shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday saw a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Richmond Street and used radar to confirm he was travelling 90 km/h over the speed limit.

After stopping the vehicle, police allege the driver was displaying signs of impairment by alcohol and transported him to an OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result Brandon Wedemire has been charged with impaired driving, driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in the blood and racing a motor vehicle.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court on Sept. 11.
