People may soon be able to eat in London city council chambers.

There is currently a rule that there is no eating and drinking in the chambers, and CTV City Hall reporter Daryl Newcombe says there are many long meetings held there sometimes eight hours long and that's without food.

He says Deputy Mayor Maureen Cassidy has put forth a proposal to start allowing that - which will now go for review by city staff.

Meanwhile, budget workshops continue at city hall. The public can take part Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
