London's Victoria Park is now bathed in purple as part of the annual Shine the Light on Woman Abuse campaign.

A tree in the park known as the "Tree of Hope" was lit in purple lights Tuesday afternoon.

Other buildings and notable London landmarks will be lit in purple for the month of November as well.

The month-long event is the London Abused Women’s Centre's largest public awareness campaign.

The 2016 campaign honours Paula Gallant, who was killed by her husband in 2005, along with St. Thomas residents Mary Meadows, who left her abusive partner.
