Chatham-Kent OPP say a driver has been charged with racing a motor vehicle after the minivan he was driving was clocked at 71 km/h over the limit.
An officer was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 401 around noon on Saturday, when a Dodge Caravan was seen travelling at a high rate of speed.
Radar registered the westbound vehicle at 171 km/h and the driver was pulled over near Communication Road.
A 35-year-old man from Scarborough has been charged with racing a motor vehicle.
His driver's licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
