A 29-year-old London man is in critical condition after suffering multiple stab wounds, according to London police.

Emergency personnel were called to 117 Riverside Dr. on Tuesday at 12:07 a.m., in relation to a serious assault.

Officers say the man was located at the address with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police say as many as nine people may have been involved in the assault, and it is not believed to have been a random attack.

"A number of people attended the residence and assaulted the victim," says Const. Ken Steeves.

Only two suspect descriptions have been made available at this time.

The first suspect is described as a heavy-set male, about 5'6" tall, possiblly Hispanic, wearing shorts.

A second suspect is described as a black male, 30-35 years old with a thin goatee, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and pants.

They were last seen heading west on foot from 117 Riverside Dr.

This is the fifth stabbing in the city in the last month.
