Fire crews from across the city were called to a fully involved barn fire in a rural part of southwest London on Tuesday.

Black smoke could be seen for kilometres as firefighters tried to douse the flames around the noon hour.

The fire was in a building at 4120 Westdel Bourne, and was reported by passers by, as no one was home when the fire started.

Crews arrived to find the barn engulfed in flames, and had to truck water in from the Lambeth area to deal with the fire.

The barn was being used for equipment storage, so fortunately there was no livestock inside and no one was injured.
