Sarnia police are investigating following an incident with an agitated male Monday.

The incident occurred Monday afternoon on Davis Street after police got a call about a suspicious person in the area.  

Police located a 29-year-old man in a parked car. As they approached, officers noticed a hatchet, hammer, and a knife in the front seat.

Police ask the man to exit the car and when he did he grabbed the hammer. According to police, one officer managed to get the hammer away from the man who then charged at officers yelling that he wanted to be shot.

Officers were able to subdue the man and arrest him. During a search police located 26 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and several more knives.

The 29-year-old faces several charges including assaulting police with a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a concealed weapon.
