A man is facing charges following a weapons incident in downtown London.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, London police discovered a man trespassing at 181 King St.

When police went to wake him up, he reached for what looked to be a black handgun.

Police later determined it was a pellet gun.

Police say the suspect had five outstanding warrants for his arrest.

A 20 year old man of no fixed address was charged with public mischief (providing a false name) and possession of an imitation weapon.

London police want to warn residents that although airsoft guns can be purchased without a licence, they can easily be mistaken as a real gun.

Precautions should be used when carrying or handling them.
