Four London children are helping to make the return to school in September a little better for others.

The Debicki children and the Moynihan kids, all between the ages of four and seven, are hoping to have pencils, crayons, rulers and anything else needed to go back to class, in the hands of those who need it.

They are collecting the supplies this week for Mission Services.

After shopping for school supplies, mother Erin Debicki realized they had more than needed and encouraged her children to give back to others, who may not be able to afford supplies.

The eager kids were assisted by neighbours to collect as much as they could.

“We just went to people’s houses and they had school supplies for us,” says Debicki’s son Noah.

They are also using social media and a YouTube video to get the word out this week.

“We want them to see the world’s a pretty big place,” says father Dan Moynihan. “There’s a lot of people who don’t have what (we) have.”

Erin, a teacher, says that first day of school is so important to get the year off on the right foot.

“You walk with your head a little higher if you have everything you need.”
