A London woman's story has generated significant community response since she first asked for help.

Leslie-Anne Jenkins is now two years into taking prescription drugs she hopes will eliminate the severe facial growth that disfigured her face.

It's been a long process, but the ongoing change is significant and Jenkins is thankful it continues to improve.

"I think it's about two-thirds of the way better. That's how I feel anyhow"

From 2011, through 2012 to now you can see the growth on her face thinning out and in some spots disappearing altogether.

It's all thanks to an expensive drug the public has donated thousands to help her pay for out of compassion for her condition.

"I think it's because it's on my face, and the public can relate to that. They think how they would feel, if it was them."

But with an $11,000 yearly cost, it's a big bill and none of it is covered by Ontario, so Jenkins continues to rely on the community for help.

And at this festive time of year, she doesn't hide how grateful she is.

"I just can't believe you people who I don't know have reached out to me so, and cared about me and what I've been going through."

And, as she extends seasonal wishes to those who've supported her, she keeps their collective wish in mind.

It's a Christmas present she hopes to receive within two years, captured on video in 2007 - a face she recognizes in the mirror.

"I just can't even find the words to thank you, and what your generosity has meant and how it has changed my life."
