The London operations of a national high-tech company are closing, throwing about 30 people out of work.
Montreal-based TC Media told CTV News it is shutting down Coversys on King Street and transferring local activities to Quebec.
A company spokesperson says some London employees may be able to work from home while others have been offered positions in Montreal. Contractual employees will not have their contracts renewed.
Conversys supports TC Media’s e-Flyer business.
"(Conversys) is highly strategic for TC Media.These operations remain core to our business as we help retailers maximize and distribute their promotional content across all channels and platforms," says the company's communications director, Katherine Chartrand.
She says the move will ensure alignment and collaboration with other TC Media teams.
"Such decisions are never easy to make.The employees affected will receive assistance in their career transition," she says.
The move is effective this summer.
