London police are reminding residents that it is against the law to discharge replica firearms such as pellet guns or air-soft pistols within the city limits.

Police have recently investigated a number of incidents in forested areas where they have been fired and children and babies have pciked up the pellets.

City By-Law PW-7 states that, "No person shall discharge a firearm within the City of London."

Police say all firearms, real or fake, pose a significant threat to public safety and that officers will always treat any weapons call as a real firearm until determined otherwise.
