London police are sounding the alarm after one person died from a suspected opioid overdose on the weekend and several others needed medical attention.

Between 12:45 p.m. Friday and Sunday at 2 p.m., London police had to deal with eight individuals involved in six separate incidents.

Police say those people required emergency medical treatment as a result of possible overdoses after ingesting or injecting drugs.

In four of the six incidents, the individuals were using either fentanyl or heroin.

Police say users never truly know what they are getting when they purchase street drugs.
