London police have charged a 24-year-old man following a hit-and-run incident Friday morning in the west end of the city.
Around 5 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the intersection of Commissioners Road West and Oxford Road West for a collision.
Police say a GMC Sierra pickup truck was northbound on Commissoners at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Chevrolet Impala that was travelling westbound through the intersection.
Sgt. Rob Brown says "It was a very violent and horrific crash that occurred here."
A female driver was taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition after being treated for injuries that include a fractured skull, broken pelvis, broken collar bone and collapsed lung.
Police arrested Corey Hallet, 24, of London after a K9 search of the area.
Hallet is charged with dangerous operating of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, failing to stop at a scene of an accident involving bodily harm, take motor vehicle without consent, trespassing at night and driving while suspended.
