Police have charged two men who fled a traffic stop after learning of an alleged armed robbery involving the same vehicle.

Officers stopped a vehicle that had been driving erratically in the area of Dundas Street and Edmonton Street shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday. It reportedly stopped briefly before fleeing the area.

Police then received information that the same vehicle was involved in a robbery involving a firearm moments earlier where cash was taken, but no one was injured.

Police then pursued the vehicle, which stopped in the area of Oxford Street East and Third Street where two males fled on foot.

Officers arrested one male shortly afterward and the second male was located a few blocks away approximately 20 minutes later.

During a search of the vehicle, police located a loaded 357 Magnum handgun.

Cailan Judge, 33, and 25-year-old Mozare Clarke, both of London, are jointly charged with:

  • Armed robbery
  • Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Careless storage of ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm without a licence
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Possessing a loaded regulated firearm

Clarke is also charged with possessing a firearm while prohibited and possessing ammunition while prohibited, while Judge is also charged with failing to stop for police.
