A London man is facing several weapons-related offences after Canadian border officials intercepted a parcel containing two stun guns.

London RCMP and Canadian Border Services Agency officers launched an investigation when the package with the prohibited weapons was intercepted on Aug. 23.

The parcel was addressed to a London resident. RCMP say it originated from Singapore, was examined and found to contain two stun guns.

Border officials contacted the London RCMP detachment, who continued with the investigation and obtained grounds for a search warrant.

RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Trafalgar Street and Highbury Avenue North in London on Sept. 6. Police say they found more prohibited weapons including a stun gun, brass knuckles, pepper spray and a flick knife. A small quantity of marijuana was also located during the search.

Josh Medina,23, of London, was charged with two counts of importation of a prohibited weapon, six counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and six counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and with smuggling and possession of illegally imported goods.
