A London man, facing an assault charge after a young woman fell from a Talbot Street balcony, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Stratford a decade ago.

In a media release on Friday, police announced 29-year-old Justin Primmer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection to the woman's fall.

The 21-year-old woman remains in hospital in critical, but stable condition.

In 2003, a then 19-year-old Primmer and 25-year-old Matthew Boyes were charged in connection with the stabbing death of 51-year-old Bob Welch of Stratford.

Primmer and Boyles were charged with second-degree murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Primmer was sentenced to 10 years, Boyles was handed 5 years.
